There is a short test
for math/science today, and it seems Kenji aced it.
担任：はい、今日は小テストをやります。
健二：（抜き打ちか、大丈夫かな…）
…
健二：（いいできだ、勉強しておいてよかった…）
愛花：すごい！わたしの自慢のカレシだもんね？ふふ♥
Kenji then goes for his
part-time job at the family restaurant. Manaka visits him.
愛花：ふふ。遊びに来ちゃった。
健二：マナカちゃん。どうしたの？
愛花：ふふ、会いたくなっちゃったんだ。いつも大変そうだから…これ、使って？
健二：（マナカ愛用ガットをもらった）ありがと。疲れが吹っ飛ぶよ。
愛花：じゃあわたし、行くね。邪魔しちゃった、ごめんね。
健二：（よーし、がんばるか！）
During the late
afternoon, he goes to the mountains to have one last look at the autumn leaves.
健二：疲れた…いくら紅葉がキレイでも、一人で廷々歩いてれば疲れるよな。
Manaka sends him a message, asking him if he is free at 6 PM to meet her.
愛花：あのね。家に帰ってからだけど、６時に外で会えないかな？
I guess
it’s fine… Assuming I don’t have to go out before 1740 hrs to fetch my sister
from tuition. Even if that’s the case, I could do some black magic.
Kenji replies that he is fine with that.
Manaka replies that she is waiting for him then.
愛花：よかった。家の前で待ってるから、またあとでね。
I was going
to get Kenji to ask Manaka out for a short while, but since she sent a message
first, never mind.
1545 hrs: Good,
at least I don’t have to do black magic this time.
Welp,
managed to activate the event, but now I have to go. I have to leave the DS
charging on standby mode. Can’t turn it off either, or I’ll get punished.
Again.
2335 hrs:
Well, I’m back. Time to continue.
They go to the fast food restaurant for their short date.
愛花：ヤンソンの誘惑って知ってる？
健二：へっ？なにそれ。
Manaka is referring to a recipe called Janssons frestelse (lit. Jansson’s temptation). It is a traditional Swedish casserole made of potatoes, onions, pickled sprats, bread crumbs and cream.
愛花：ふふっ、お料理の名前。
健二：あ、外国料理ブーム、継続中なんだ。
愛花：ピンポン。スウェーデン料理です。
健二：へぇ、どんな感じの料理？
愛花：簡単に言っちゃうと、グラタンかな？
Gratin refers to a cooking method in which an ingredient is topped with a browned crust, often using breadcrumbs, grated cheese, egg and/or butter.
愛花：お芋と炒めた玉ねぎとアンチョビを重ねて、そこに生クリームと牛乳を混ぜて作ったソースをかけたら、オープンへ。
健二：…ウマそう。
愛花：ふふ、美味しくい♥ 次はどこのお料理にしようかな？
健二：（いいなー！）
They kiss before going
back from the fast food restaurant.
Kenji then goes to the
restaurant for his dinner.
When he returns home,
he thinks to himself that he should probably buy something for Manaka as well,
since she brought him something earlier today.
健二：（…そうだ。マナカちゃんに何かプレゼントしようかな）
健二：（今度買い物に出かけるか…）
As he falls asleep, he imagines Manaka telling him:
お兄ちゃま♥
…uhhhh… no.
