The start message for today is もう、遅い！ほら、急いで！
I was going to see what happens if Kenji falls sick,
but then I realised his stamp rally is not complete. He still needs to go to
the botanical garden with his girlfriend on an off day. The only off days left
for this month is this coming Sunday, next Monday and next Sunday. I cannot
afford to have Kenji out of action because I don’t know how long it takes for
him to recover.
They walk to school together, as usual.
愛花：ね、この前、ゲームを持ってきてる女の子の話、したでしょう？
健二：ああ、聞いてみた？
愛花：うん、カワイイ、のほうの“もえる”だったみたい。
健二：そっちだったか。
愛花：でもね、カワイイって言葉だけには収まらないんだって、萌えるって。わからないって言ったら、ソフトを貸そうかっていわれたんだけど…ゲーム機本体がないから断っちゃった。ね、萌えってゲームじゃないと味わえない？
健二：そんなことはないと思うけど。
愛花：んー。なんか、ムズムズする。どういうことなのかな？ね、萌え？
健二：（今のマナカちゃんって言っても、理解はしてもらえないよな…）
In class, Manaka sends him a message to
him. She want to meet him at 0900hrs.
愛花：あのね。休み時間にお話しない？９時にわたしのクラスに来てほしいな。
That’s 20 minutes from the time of writing. I guess
it’s fine.
健二：もちろん！
愛花：よかった。廊下で待ってるから、またあてでね。
Wait a minute…
Kenji is allowed to go for any meet-up up
to 20 minutes early.
The clock is not set correctly. Need to set it… Done!
Kenji arrives 10 minutes early. Manaka
is not there yet. She arrives shortly after.
愛花：健二くん。
健二：なんに？
愛花：こーくん。って呼ばれるの、どう？
I thought it has been brought up a few times and rejected?
健二：そうだな…今のままでいいんじゃないかな。
愛花：ふぅん。じゃあ、いい。
健二：（今のままが一番だよな！）
During lunch break, he sees if he could
call Manaka by something else.
健二：（マナカちゃんのこと、そろそろ別の呼び方してみるかな…？）
He evaluates his options:
- マナカくん
- お嬢
- 高嶺くん
- マナカ姫
- やっぱり、このまま（マナカちゃん）
… He decides he will stick with what he
usually calls her for now.
健二：ま、いっか…
愛花：…？
Manaka is slightly confused by Kenji’s
muttering, but doesn’t ask any further.
But before his wingman goes off to wait
for the next time checkpoint (1500hrs), Kenji calls Manaka to schedule a date
this Sunday at the garden. Kenji calls Manaka for a short date somewhere in
the school.
I am an idiot. I pressed the “Call Out” （呼び出し）function on the phone instead of the other option to
organise a date.
愛花：もしもし、どうしたの？
健二：あのさ。今から会えないかな、大丈夫？
愛花：いいよ、もちろん。
They decide to meet at the library.
They talk for a while before hiding away
among the bookshelves to do what lovers do.
I mean kiss, you sick bastards.
Kobayakawa is so not going to be pleased if she sees this.
After kissing, Manaka playfully tells him off, saying they really shouldn’t
be doing this in school.
Kenji then calls Manaka to schedule a
date this Sunday at the botanical garden. The last spot required to complete
the stamp rally.
愛花：はい、もしもし。
健二：俺だけど。
愛花：何か用事？べつに、なくてもかまわないんだけど。
健二：えっと…。１１月２３日植物園に行こうよ。どうかな？
愛花：期待通りでよかった。うん、いいよ。あとは当日も期待通りだと嬉しいな、なんて。じゃあ、持ち合わせは何時にしようか？
健二：そうだな…。（8:50AM）
愛花：うん、それでいいよ。
健二：じゃあ、AM８時50分に新とわの駅で。
愛花：ふふ…きと今からその日まで、ずっとドキドキしちゃう。
健二：そっか、誘った甲斐があったよ。
愛花：じゃ、またね。
健二：うん。じゃあ、また。
（…）
愛花：ほら。電話、切ろうよ。
健二：そっちだって。
愛花：切りたくないな…。じゃあ…好き！〈ビッ〉
健二：え!? （び、びっくりした）
After hanging up, Manaka sends him a
text.
愛花：ほんとはね、わたしから誘おうかなって思ってたの。誘ってくれて、ありがとう。
Kenji evaluates his reply options:
- デート楽しみにしてる (-0 mana points)
- 早く会いたい (-2 mana points)
- 愛の言葉 (-4 mana points)
Why not send her a mushy text? He’s got
all the points to burn anyway.
Try not to fall sick before then. Please.
It’s time for tennis club. The other
members were discussing about a tennis match.
男子部員：なぁなぁ。見たか、あの試合？すごかったよな。
健二：えっと…。
…
男子部員：だよなー、あそこであれは返せないよなー。
健二：（話が合ってよかった、勉強しておいてよかったな…）
愛花：ふふ、やったね？
Kenji returns home after tennis club to
rest.
健二：よし、ゆっくりしよう…。
Kenji: Right, time to take it easy…
Before going to sleep, he thinks to
himself that Manaka was in a good mood today, and as her boyfriend, he is happy
for that.
健二：今日のマナカちゃん、すごく機嫌が良かったな。カノジョが幸せだと、カレシとしても嬉しいな。
He then sends Manaka a text wishing her
a good night.
As he drifts off to sleep, he imagines
Manaka telling him
一晩寝させたカレーライス。
一晩寝させたカレーライス。
Whaaaaaaat?
