Kenji wakes up at 0000 hrs, after his wingman finishes
watching an episode of Dr Who with his family. His phone is ringing.
健二：（電話…マナカちゃんだ）もしもし。
愛花：あけましておめでとうございます。
健二：あけましておめでとうございます。
Happy New
Year, you guys!
愛花：ふふ。一番に言えた。パパが知ったら、嫉妬しちゃうかな。
健二：…じゃあ、黙っておこう。
…
愛花：もう切るね。そろそろパパとママにも新年のあいさつしなきゃ。
健二：そうだな。じゃあ、また。
愛花：うん、今年もよろしくお願いします。
健二：（俺とマナカちゃんの新しい一年が始まるな…）
Welcome
back. Woke up to a fish tank that leaked all over the floor. Way to start out
the year, huh?
Kenji goes to the shrine for some reconnaissance
during the morning.
健二：和めるかと思ったけど…ちょっと静か過ぎて、むしろ怖いぐらいだった…。
Kenji goes to Manaka’s house during the afternoon.
Apparently
Kenji’s parents don’t come to visit him even during New Year’s. That’s pretty
lonely.
健二：うー、さむ…。そろそろ来るかな。
愛花：あけましておめでとう。
Manaka is dressed in a traditional Japanese kimono.
健二：あけましておめでとう、マナカちゃん。今年もよろしくな。
愛花：うん、よろしくね。
健二：晴れ着なんだな、似合ってるぞ。
愛花：ふふ、ありがとう。
健二：じゃあ、初詣行くか。
They go to the shrine for the Hatsumoude.
健二：今年は何をお願いするかなあ。
愛花：決まってないの？
健二：いん。悩みどころだ…マナカちゃんは？もう決まってんの？
愛花：わたしはずっと一緒だから。“大切な人とずっと、幸せでいられますように”
健二：マナカちゃん…。
愛花：具体的には。パパとママ！
健二：え！俺は!?
愛花：さあ、どうでしょう？あっ、ほら、少し空いたよ？行こう？
健二：（うう、気になる…）
They return to Manaka’s house.
愛花：送ってくれて、ありがとう。またね。
健二：あぁ、またな。
愛花：…。
健二：ん？
愛花：これからもよろしくおねがいします。
健二：もちろん、こちらこそ。じゃあな。
Kenji goes to the Japanese snack house for the late
afternoon.
健二：甘味屋に男が一人…そりゃ、ジロジロ見られるよな…。男が甘い物好きで何が悪い！
For dinner, he goes to the ramen shop.
健二：ここ、デートの帰りに来るのもありかもしれないな。
A new location is unlocked: the live house. Currently
on right now is the band “na.co”.
Kenji returns home to sleep. He thinks to himself that
the weekend is close, and he should hang in there.
As he falls asleep, he imagines Manaka telling him:

Not just anybody.
