Just took my evaluation test and have confirmed I will be going to Intermediate 2 next month. Still not JLPT level, but it’s something.

Manaka’s still angry with Kenji, right?

Kenji’s luck is not really looking good for today.

Kenji goes for science class alone.

健二：今日は頭が冴えてるな。難しい公式も簡単に頭に入ってるぞ。

愛花：ふーん。

And then to social studies class.

健二：今日は頭が冴えてるな。なんでも暗記できそうだ。

愛花：また、やってる。はあ…。

During the late afternoon, Kenji goes to the club room. Manaka meets him there.

愛花：健二くん。

健二：マナカ姫。俺、あれから…。

愛花：うん、がんばってた。わかって？わたし、好きでイジワルしてたんじゃなくて…。

健二：わかってる、俺のせいだ。ごめん。

愛花：わたし、嫌われちゃうと思って…。こわくて…。

健二：ほんとごめん。辛い思いさせて。

愛花：ばかっ！こわかった…寂しかったの！

健二：マナカ姫…。

About time.

And thus they kiss and make up.

Kenji then goes to the aquarium.

健二：やっぱり癒されるな、水族館は！ちょっと薄暗い感じもまた良いんだよな。

Kenji receives a message from Manaka calling off the hostilities.

愛花：ほんとに怖くて寂しかった。もうイヤだから、喧嘩なんてやめようね。

And I still have no idea why the hostilities started. Sometimes Japanese idioms can be bullshit.

Referring to 岡目八目, meaning “observers see a situation more clearly than the participants”.

Kenji goes to sleep. He imagines Manaka telling him

今一番食べたいのは？…はい、オイモ！

I’ll be at the other side of the room.
