Kenji goes for his tennis club in the morning.

There, he calls Manaka out for a short while. He
decides to meet her at the fast food restaurant.
健二：正年は、どうやって過ごすの？
愛花：元旦はゆっくりして、あとはお年始回りで忙しくなりそう。
健二：そっか。かなり回るの？
愛花：数はそうでもないけど、ちょっと大変。
健二：どうして？
愛花：お年賀が、わたしの手作りのお菓子なの。毎年、それで悩んじゃって…。
健二：毎年じゃなぁ。やめるわけにはいかないの？
愛花：両親はもういいよって言ってくれるんだけどね？それはわたしがイヤなの。だって、何だか、負けるみたいじゃない…？

He goes to the aquarium for the evening.
健二：やっぱり癒されるな、水族館は！ちょっと薄暗い感じもまた良いんだよな。
Kenji goes to sleep, reminding himself that he shouldn’t
be late for his date with Manaka tomorrow. As he drifts off to sleep, he
imagines Manaka telling him:
