I really want to see what happens when Kenji falls sick, but I can’t let that happen just yet. He’s still got New Year’s Day left to attend.

講習が始まりました

Kenji meets Manaka outside of his house.

愛花：健二くん。

健二：マナカちゃん、おはよ。

愛花：おはよ！今日から冬期講習だね。

健二：ああ、そうだな！…ダメだ、今の出元気使い切った。

愛花：もう、わたしのわけで上げるから。行こ！

They walk to tennis practice together.

健二：掃除チャンバラ、楽しんでる？

En garde…?

愛花：ふふ、男子はね？

健二：あれ？マナカちゃんは？

愛花：わたしはお掃除に集中することにしたの。当初の目的は果たしたわげだし。

健二：そっか。ちょっと見たかったな、マナカちゃんのチャンバラ。

愛花：…辞めた理由には、それもあるの。

健二：？

愛花：本気でやってたら、人が集まっちゃって…あと、わたしを剣道部の人スカウトに来りして。

健二：剣道部？

愛花：うん。見込みがある、今からも遅くない！って。そんなの無理だし、それに女の子としてはやっぱりちゃんと…ね。でも楽しかったな。あなたのおかげでまた世界が広がっちゃった。ありがとう。

健二：（余計な扉を開かせてしまったような気がしないでもない…）

Seems like Kenji’s luck is on the bad side today.

He returns to school for holiday classes.

健二：ダメだ、やっぱ休み中に勉強なんて無理だ…。

Ahhh… sounds like high school.

愛花：今日は当てられる日だよね、頑張って。

He goes to the botanical gardens (again for the late afternoon.

He calls Manaka out for a short while at the family restaurant.

愛花：健二くん。一つだけ、聞いていい？

健二：うん、いいけど？

愛花：ね、質問。デートするとしたら、どういう場所に行きたい？

健二：そうだなぁ…。流行のところ、かな。

愛花：話題になっちゃうような？

健二：そうそう。やっぱさ、二人で制覇したいかな、と。

愛花：ふふ、そうだね。思い出、たくさん作れそうだし…。ん、了解。流行のところ、ね？

Kenji returns home to rest for the evening.

健二：よし、ゆっくりしよう…。

While at home, Manaka sends him a message asking him what type of personality of girl he likes.

愛花：健二くんの好みのタイプってどういう子？前から変わってたりする？

Kenji evaluates his options:

• クールで物静か
• 優しくて大人しい
•  明るくて積極的 (current)

He prefers Manaka just as she is now, so he chooses the third option.

愛花：ふふ、そっか。ならいいの。

As he goes to sleep, he imagines Manaka telling him:

電信柱に、つっぱりつっぱり！

That has got to sound painful.
