Hey Kenji, maybe
you should join a sport club in school or something. I’m pretty sure there are
many opportunities to socialise there.
And thus, Kenji joins the tennis club.
Wait, seriously? You don’t even have a tennis
racket! I guess the club could lend you a tennis racket though…
健二：すいませーん、入部届出しに来たんすけど、テニス部の鈴木先生は…。
Kenji: Excuse me, I came to turn in my
club enrolment form. Is Suzuki-sensei of the tennis club here?
教師：鈴木先生ならさっき出てったぞ？テニスコートの方に行ってみたらどうた？
Teacher: Suzuki-sensei just left. Why don’t
you try looking around the tennis courts?
健二：そっすか、じゃあ…。
Kenji: Is that so? Okay, then.
Kenji walks to the tennis court.
健二：（へぇ、立派なコートがあるんだな…ん？）昼休みなのに、コートの掃除してる子がいる…。
Kenji: (Wow, they have such nice tennis
courts… Hm?) Even though it’s lunch time, there is someone cleaning the courts.
？？：ふぅ…これでよし、と！
??: Phew… This should do it!
健二：すいません！
Kenji: Excuse me!
？？：え？あ、はい！はい、何がご用ですか？
??: Eh? Ah, yes! Yes. Is there something I
can help you with?
健二：（うわっ…きれいな人だな…）
Kenji: (Wow, what a beautiful girl…)

？？：あの、なにか…。
??: Um, is there something…?
健二：あぁ、そうだ！えっと…。俺、２年の小島健二。転入してきて、今日からテニス部に入部したんだけど…。
Kenji: Ah, that’s right! Um… I am a second
year, Kojima Kenji, I just transferred in and I’m here to join the tennis club
today…
愛花：じゃあ、顧問の鈴木先生がおっしゃってた…。わたしも女子テニス部の２年、高嶺愛花（たかね・まなか）です。よろしくね？
Manaka: Then you’re the one our advisor
Suzuki-sensei mentioned… I’m Takane Manaka, second year in girls’ tennis. Let’s
get along, okay?
健二：（うわっ、笑うと笑顔がまた可愛いや…）
Kenji: (Wow, her smile is also cute…)
愛花：それであの…ご用は？
Manaka: So then, what is it that you need?
健二：あぁ、そうだった！その鈴木先生をさがしてんだけど職員室に居なくてさ、どこが知らない？
Kenji: Ah, that’s right! I’m looking for
Suzuki-sensei. He wasn’t in the staff room. Do you know where he is?
愛花：鈴木先生、お昼はいつも屋上でお昼寝してらっしゃるから、きっと…。
Manaka: Suzuki-sensei always takes a nap
on the roof during lunch time. So surely…
健二：わかった、屋上な？…屋上って、どっから上がるんだっけ？
Kenji: I got it. The roof? …How do I get
to the roof?
愛花：ふふ…じゃあ、案内してあげる。
Manaka: Hehe… Then I’ll take you there.
健二：掃除はいいの？当番とかじゃなかった？
Kenji: What about the cleaning? Aren’t you
on duty?
愛花：コートに枯葉が落ちてると練習のとき危ないから、お節介で掃いてただけなの。
Manaka: It’s dangerous to play with leaves
on the court, so I was just cleaning it on my own.
健二：そっか。じゃあ、悪いけど。
Kenji: I see. Then, if you don’t mind.
愛花：困った時は、お互い様。ね？
Manaka: Always help out one another when
in need, right?
健二：（高嶺か…俺の新生活、いいことありそうだな！）
Kenji: (Takane, huh…? I’m sure my new life
will have good things!)
And thus begins Kenji’s life as a tennis club member and the beginning of him and Manaka.
*This is not the actual game start date. Instead, this was based on the date that was calculated backwards from the number of in-game days passed before the confession (72 days before 14 October is 4 August). The date of first meet was set to slightly later because the tennis club wasn't the first thing Kenji signed up for upon arrival at Towano City. IIRC, he first signed up for the library committee.
