have misunderstood the demographics of Japanese players of this game, I really
don’t think there is an overlap between “people who play this game” and “people
who make friends during spring break”.

They walk to school together. Manaka wants Kenji to
hold her hand.
愛花：手がね、寂しいなって、言ってるみたい。
Kenji happily obliges.
健二：（カノジョと手を繋いで歩くのって、いいよな！）
Holding
hands with your girlfriend never gets old for you, huh?
愛花：良かった…繋いでくれて。
健二：俺も、そんな気分だったし。
愛花：うん。あなたが嫌がったって、握っちゃうんだけど…なんて。
Manaka moves closer to Kenji.
愛花：…お願い。
…and they kiss
愛花：あなただけで、いい…。
During lunch break, Kenji meets Manaka at the
courtyard.
愛花：そういえば、この間ダブルスの国際選手権、テレビでやってたね？日本人選手もがんばってたし、わたし、すごく興奮しちゃった。
健二：確かに、マナカちゃんのスマッシュはすごかったな。エア・マナ！なんつって！
Urgh.
愛花：…なんの話？
健二：ごめん。何でもない、ハハハ…。
愛花：ん？どうかした？
健二：ほら、誰も見てないし、な？
愛花：もしかして…今ここで？
健二：…ダメ？
愛花：悪いんだ。見つかっても、知らないから。
Manaka was just messing around. She’s actually eager
to kiss Kenji.
She moves closer to Kenji.
愛花：ふふっ、距離、縮めちゃうかな？
Kenji trips at the start point but makes a fantastic
recovery.

愛花：世界中が、キラキラしてる気がする…。
During tennis club…
愛花：お疲れ様。今日もがんばってるね。
健二：マナカちゃん。そっちは？
愛花：うん、バッチリ！絶好調です、なんて。
Manaka passes Kenji a nicely-wrapped present.
愛花：いつもがんばってるから…これ、差し入れ。
健二：（愛花愛用冷却スプレーをもらった）ありがと。疲れが吹っ飛ぶよ。
Cool. I’ve
got one of these as well. Ever since I sprained an ankle doing taekwondo.
To thank her for the present, Kenji decides to kiss
Manaka.
愛花：ん？どうかしたの？
健二：なぁ…なんか、二人っきりっぽいな？
愛花：そう？だから？
健二：…ダメ？
愛花：もう…わがまま！誰が来るまでよ？いい？
After kissing, they hear footsteps.
愛花：ほら、誰が来たから！
健二：もうちょっと！
愛花：離れなさい！練習、がんばって。じゃあね。
健二：（よーし、がんばるか！）
During the evening, Kenji goes to the planetarium.
健二：暗すぎて思わず寝ちゃったな。なんにも覚えてないや…。
Kenji returns home.
健二：（いつもマナカちゃんに差し入れしてもらってるけど何かお返ししようかな）
He decides maybe he should buy a present for Manaka.
健二：（今度買い物に出かけるか…）
Kenji receives a message from Manaka.
愛花：おやすみ。春だからって、寝坊しちゃダメだよ？
健二：〈気持ちを込めて返信〉
愛花：ふふ、やっぱりメールだけじゃなくて会いたくなっちゃうな。なんて
I once read
an entire dump of text messages found in the game on TLWiki. The ending なんて is pretty much how I identified messages as coming
from Manaka and not from either of the other two.
Kenji goes to sleep. He imagines Manaka telling him
