Kenji goes for tennis practice in the morning.

健二：今日は調子が悪いな。ほとんど拾えなかった…。

愛花：ファイトー！と・わ・の！ふふ。

He then goes for library committee.

健二：今日は仕事がスムーズに進むな。この調子で終わらせるか！

Afterwards he returns home to style before going for his date.

健二：ダメだ、全然きまらない。これじゃカッコつかないな…。

Kenji goes to the small park early.

健二：マナカ姫は、まだ来てないみたいだな。

Manaka arrives shortly after.

愛花：今日は寒いね。こんな日に待たせて怒ってる？

Now that’s something new. Manaka is wearing spectacles.

I know she wears spectacles when not with Kenji, but this is something completely new in the over 1-year history of this log.

健二：待ってないって。時間ぴったりだから。

Manaka has chosen to go for a straight untied hair style.

愛花：髪型変えちゃった。どう？

健二：そうだな…。いいな、そういうの。

愛花：ふふ、やった♥

Manaka has also chosen to go in a formal style, with an orange suit, a white shirt with a white cravat and a blue/purple pleated skirt.

I’ve levelled up my clothing description skill after attending an impromptu class on Japanese clothing style conducted by some students from Waseda University.

Also, I have decided to add in Manaka's picture (which is a merge of 2 pictures) due to how distinctive her new look is like. 

Finally, this combination really compliments Manaka’s look.

愛花：あなたが一番気に入れそうな服って、どんなのかなっていろいろ考えて…。

Kenji doesn’t waste any time to give his opinion.

愛花：清楚な女の子っていうイメージにまとめてみたの。上手くできてるといいんだけど。

Ow. I’ll get back to work.

健二：そうだな…。いいと思うよ。

愛花：嬉しい！あなたのために変えてみたの、ふふ。

They kiss at the park before going for their date.

But first, time for some light refreshments.

愛花：健二くん。

健二：なに？

愛花：こーくん。って呼ばれるの、どう？

                    

健二：そうだな…。今のままでいいんじゃないかな。

愛花：ふぅん。じゃあ、いい。

健二：（今のままが一番だよな！）

They then proceed to the bowling alley.

愛花：見て、あのネコちゃん。気持ち良さそうに寝てる。

健二：塀の上で、器用だよなー。

愛花：うん。わたしだったら、すぐに下に落ちちゃいそう。

健二：マナカちゃんって寝相悪いの？

Shouldn’t you already know the answer? You’ve slept in the same room as her for like 5 times already.

愛花：もう、女の子にそんなこと聞かないで？

Manaka wants Kenji to hold her hand as they walk together. She also moves in for Kenji to kiss her.

They reach the bowling alley.

愛花：ボウリングの点数って、どうやってつけるの？

I’ve done bowling before, and I kind of know the bowling rules, but scoring is a bit difficult to describe.

健二：何で？自動でコンピューターがつけてるのに。

Well I could create a C program to do that kind of calculation.

愛花：そうなんだけど。でも、あんまり楽するのもなあって。

健二：まぁな、いざってときに困るよな。サバイバル・ボウリングとかになったら。

愛花：もう、なに？サバイバル・ボウリングって。

健二：原始的なボウリング場で、食うか食われるかの…。

愛花：ちぎっては投げ、ちぎっては投げ？

健二：そうそう、そんな感じ。

愛花：ふふ！そう、だからね？そんなときのために覚えておいたほうがいいのかなって。

健二：じゃ、こっちで点数つけながらやるか。

愛花：やっぱり知ってるんだ。さすがだね？先生、お願いします♥

They kiss at the bowling alley.

愛花：あなたの隣を歩きたいな？いつか、教会とかで…。

Manaka still has time, so Kenji suggests the planetarium.

愛花：うん、行こうか？

健二：よし、行こう！

They take the train to Towano-sakagami station.

愛花：車の運転免許って、取るの大変なのかな。

And that’s why I don’t have a licence.

Besides, a driving licence is kind of useless without a car to drive. Public transport is acceptable enough for most cases in Singapore anyway.

健二：どうかな…取りたいの？危ないからって禁止されてそうなイメージなんだけど。

愛花：将来、お医者さんになるなら必要なものだから、それは大丈夫。うちは回診もしてるから。

健二：なるほどな…ちゃんと考えてるんだ。

愛花：でも、あなたとドライブに行ってみたい、なんて言ったら禁止されちゃうかも。ナイショにしててね？

I don’t think Mr. Takane would mind by then. Besides, even if he does mind even by then, I’ll convince him to get over it.

They hold hands and kiss on the way to the planetarium.

愛花：昔の人って、想像力が豊かだったんだね？星をつないで、神様を描いたりして。

健二：その頃はもっとたくさん見えてただろうしな。

愛花：今じゃ、プラネタリウムじゃないと見られない星も、たくさんあるんだろうね。

健二：だな…実際はもう、消えちゃってる星もあるんだろうし。

愛花：小さい頃は、不思議だったなぁ…どうして、何億年も前の光が見えるのかなって。

It’s mind-blowing when you think of it.

健二：光の進む速さは～、なんて言われてもな？

The speed of light is ~3.00E8 m/s. A light year is 9.46E12 km.

愛花：ふふ。ね、こんなふうな会話をしてるカップルって、きっとわたしたちだけじゃないよね？

I do hope so.

健二：そりゃ、星の数ほどいると思うな！

愛花：お後がよろしいようで。なんて。ふふ！

They kiss in the planetarium.

愛花：これからも、たくさんしようね？

After kissing, they have dinner at the Japanese snack house.

健二：（マナカ姫のこと、そろそろ別の呼び方してみるかな…？）

Kenji evaluates his options.

1. ドクター (Yes I know she looks like one today. Resist your urge to call her that)
2. マナくん
3. エア・マナ (Call her that and I’ll beat you with an asparagus)
4. 高嶺
5. やっぱり、このまま

Against his wingman’s recommendation, Kenji decides on option 1.

You what mate?

健二：ドクター。

愛花：…。

健二：なんて、どう？

愛花：えー、そういうのがいいの？

健二：いい！絶対いい！

愛花：もう。じゃあ、いいよ。

Well that ended better than expected.

They walk to the train station.

愛花：今日は、また素敵な思い出が増えちゃった。これもカノジョの特権だよね。わたしが考えてること、わかる？

It’s time to go home.

愛花：ふふ、かわいいカップル。

健二：ああ…中学生かな。

愛花：かな？手繋いでる、いいな…。

健二：いいな…。

And for my next trick, I shall roll my eyes towards the back of my head.

愛花：もう、お互い何言ってるんだろね？ふふ。

They hold hands and kiss as they walk to Manaka’s house.

As Manaka walks back home, she doubles back, wanting a goodbye kiss from Kenji.

愛花：引き止めてくれるの？…嬉しいかも。

And thus they kiss.

愛花：このまま、ずっとこうしていられたらいいのに…。

Kenji returns home to sleep, thinking about how fun his date with Manaka was.
