They walk to school together.
I just
found out my life is starting to look like Kenji’s, with the Japanese classes being
on Saturday mornings. I’m not used to this, since Saturday mornings were
usually sleep-in times. I have library volunteer work (reading to little
children) on Sunday mornings, so I can’t sleep in then.
Then again,
considering the volunteer work is conducted by my mother and administered by my
elder brother, I won’t exactly call it volunteer work so much as it’s a duty.
愛花：…。
健二：…。
Awkward silence…?
愛花：…。
健二：…なに？
愛花：ううん、なんにも。
Well I
guess walking together not saying anything can be enjoyable, as long as you
have each other’s company, right?
健二：…そう。
愛花：…。
健二：…。
愛花：…。
健二：見てるよね？
愛花：見られるの、いや？

there are some things I will never understand.
健二：いやじゃないけど…。
愛花：じゃあ、いいよね？
健二：？
Don’t ask
me; I don’t know either.
This time, Manaka wants Kenji to hold her hand. She
moves in for Kenji to kiss her.
During tennis club…
男子部員：なぁなぁ。見たか、あの試合？すごかったよな。
健二：えっと…。
…
男子部員：だよなー、あそこであれは返せないよなー。
健二：（話が合ってよかった、勉強しておいてよかったな…）
愛花：すごい！わたしの自慢のカレシだもんね？ふふ♥
Kenji goes to the beach for the late afternoon. It’s
still quiet there. No one else is going to be there…?
愛花：健二くん。
Not exactly.
健二：マナカ姫？
愛花：やっぱり、あなただった。
健二：えっ？
愛花：遠くから、ちらっと見えただけだったの。ふふ、追いかけてきてよかった。
They talk for a while.
健二：っと、そろそろ行くかな。
愛花：そっか、そうだね。
健二：ああ、じゃあな。
愛花：じゃあね！
…
健二：やっぱり海は一人で来ても楽しいな。いい気分転換になった。
Kenji’s phone rings. Manaka wants to meet him for a
short while.
After some deliberation, Kenji decides to meet up at
the family restaurant.
They meet up outside the family restaurant.
愛花：健二くん。
健二：あっ、マナカ姫。
愛花：ふふ、ありがと。カノジョのお願いきいてくれて。
健二：もちろん。カレシだから、さ。
In the restaurant…
健二：この間はパン、ありがとな。
愛花：どういたしまして。あなたのおかげで、かなりスッキリしちゃった。
健二：てことは…だいぶ派手に、どぉん？
愛花：ふふっ、そうだったかも。誰もキッチンに来なかったもん。
健二：そ、そっか…。
愛花：前にね、ママに聞いてことがあるの。どうして入ってこないの？って。
健二：そうしたら、なんだって？
愛花：怖いんだって。とにかく無表情で、どぉん！ってやってるみたいで。
健二：…。
愛花：でも、何かに真剣に取り組んでたらそうなんらないかな？どう思う？
健二：（うーん、どうだろう…）
They kiss outside the restaurant before going off
separately.
Kenji then goes to the shopping mall to buy a present
for Manaka. Hopefully it goes better than yesterday.
健二：（そうだ。マナカ姫にプレゼントしようと思ってたんだ）
Kenji evaluates his options

He decides to go to the accessories shop, after
consultation from his wingman.
In
hindsight, the boutique was a bad idea.
店員：いらっしゃいませー。
健二：プレゼント、ここで買おうかな…。
He evaluates his options once again
- ピンクイヤリング
- ブルーの腕時計
- ゴールドリング
- やめておく
Whoa,
option 3 (gold ring) looks really extravagant. Why would it even be an option?
Kenji decides to choose the pink earrings.
健二：（よし、次に呼び出したときに渡そう）
店員：ありがとうございましたー。
As he leaves the shopping mall, he receives a message
from Manaka.
愛花：ここ数日、明日のデートのことばかり考えて、他のことが手に付かないの。もう、健二くんのせいなんだから
健二：〈愛の言葉〉
愛花：わたしも…わたしも同じ気持ちだから
Kenji receives a message from the Towano tourist
agency.
十羽野ツーリスト緊急企画！メール応募で熱海旅行に男女カップル２名さまをご招待！当たる、当たらないは運次第？どしどしご応募ください
Kenji evaluates his options
- とりあえず応募する (-15 mana points)
- 気合いを入れて応募する (-30 mana points)
Eh, got the
mana points to burn anyway. Why not?
Kenji chooses the second option.
A few minutes later, he receives a message.
おめでとうございます！熱海旅行１泊２日に当選されました。チケットはごじつお送りいたします
健二：すげえ、また当たった…。
Awesome.
Totally awesome. If only I get these kind of things on such a regular basis.
健二：（次もマナカ姫と行けるかな…？）
Who else?
Not like you are going to invite me over. And I’m pretty sure the ticket is
only valid for bullet train rides.
Kenji goes to sleep. He imagines Manaka telling him
