15 October

On their way back home, Manaka mentions about going to the sports shop to get her tennis racket re-stringed and re-gripped. She asks Kenji about how he has been maintaining his tennis racket, and he answers that since enrolling into the school, he has only re-stringed his racket once, to which Manaka replies that he was supposed to get it re-stringed every three months (!). Still, she was impressed at how he was able to play well with really old strings. Kenji finds her fascination weird.

They’d better not inspect my racket. It has not been re-stringed since I got it in 2006, and it has not been used for so long (I last remembered actually using it at 2008) that the grip has completely flaked off. I have removed the grip so that any further handling will not stain the floor or hands.

As Kenji takes a relaxing walk at the fountain park, he receives the first of a series of mysterious texts:

Turns out it's a series of texts from Towano Travel agency.
