24 October, Monday

The start message is ハッピーバースデー!

Cute.

They walk to school together.

Wouldn’t want Manaka to have to wake Kenji up on his birthday for this.

But then again Manaka could sneak a birthday kiss for Kenji if he doesn’t wake up that early.

Oh what the hell am I thinking.

Now theoretically I could set up an archery target at home to practice, but that means there are so many issues with safety measures.

Getting greedy here, Kenji?

¿Por que no los dos?

Later on at the courtyard.

Lady, that’s three days after the wingman’s birthday. If Kenji doesn’t remember, I’ll make sure he does.

Manaka takes out the nicely-wrapped present box from behind her.

Kenji looks at his present. It’s a wristwatch.

Well. Now here’s something that breaks Manaka’s gift giving pattern.

But honestly that wristwatch looks really solid. Almost like the kind I would wear.

Let’s see what the description says…

Heat-, pressure- and shockproof solar powered watch with alarm capability.

Holy shit. My own watch has these features and it cost a pretty penny. I think it costed 35,000 JPY before tax?

Oh yeah, that’s a rich kid in a really enduring relationship.

If I ever gave those kind of gifts I would have to pay for them out of my own pocket. I’d never think of giving such an expensive gift when I was a high schooler. Sure my friends did gift a watch to me back during my high school days but it was a cheap watch that fell apart within weeks. But it’s the thought that counts.

Damn.

Honestly, I have no idea how to get Kenji to thank Manaka for that.
