Kenji then walks to
the school corridor.
健二：マナカちゃん、オッス。
愛花：健二くん。…やっぱり、いいな。学校があったら、毎日あなたに…。
健二：ん？なに？
愛花：ううん！今学期もよろしくね？
During lunch break…
愛花：またわからない言葉があって。「ディスる」って、どういうときに使うの？
What kind of mutation is that?
健二：マナカちゃんにはディスられたくないな。
That doesn’t quite help…
愛花：Thisられる？Thisの…受動態？どういう意味だろう…。
健二：違う違う。そのThisじゃなくて、ディーアイエスのDis。
You mean “Diss”?
“Dis” is an alternative spelling for “Diss”, which means
to insult.
So that works as
well.
愛花：ああ、じゃあ悪い意味なんだ。
健二：もともとはラッパー用語、なのかな？
Ding! Ding! Ding! Correct!
愛花：ラッパ？音楽用語なの？
Notラッパ (trumpet), ラッパー (rapper).
健二：えっと…。
Manaka pauses,
before lowering her head in embarrassment.
愛花：わたし、また…。
健二：（こういうのもマナカちゃんのいいところかもな）
Kenji walks to the
shoe lockers after class.
健二：さて、帰るか。
He spots Manaka at
the shoe lockers as well.
健二：（あ、愛花ちゃん…）
He decides to call
out to Manaka. Wouldn’t want to miss a chance to walk home together.
健二：オッス！
愛花：健二くん。
健二：一緒に帰ろうか？
愛花：うん、もちろん♥
Then then walk home
together.
愛花：どう？ガットを張り替えて、使い心地は？
健二：やっぱ違うかも。ボールに伸びが出たって言うか。
Something similar occurred when I switched my
bow string from Dacron (polyethylene terephthalate) to Dyneema (ultra high
molecular weight polyethylene) string. For starters, PET stretches more than
UHMWPE and results in more energy loss as the string stretches and relaxes
during firing. Also, PET gradually creeps longer as the string is placed under
tension and makes it difficult to calibrate brace height for balancing
forgiveness with arrow speed throughout a shooting session.
Older bows still use PET since the limbs cannot
withstand the increased force of a UHMWPE string slapping back to it upon
release.
愛花：ふふっ、それなら良かった。悩むよね、張り替えの時期って。
Eh, replacing the string on my bow is no
biggie. I unstring the bow every time I disassemble it for storage. I could
just junk the old string and restring the bow using the new string if I get
one.
健二：マナカちゃんはやっぱり３ヶ月ごと派？
愛花：いちおう、基本は。でも、プレイの内容で状態が変わったりするから、必要なときに、って感じかな。
健二：張り替えてようと思ったときが張り替えて時ってことか。次は俺がそう思うのは、ずっと先かもな…
愛花：ふふっ、もう。大会目指していくなら、基本は守ったほうがいいんじゃない？
健二：そうか。じゃあ、在学中はマナカちゃんと一緒に張り替えるよ。
Hmmmmmmm?
愛花：…在学中だけ？
健二：ハハッ、ごめん。もちろん、卒業してからも。
愛花：よろしい、なんて。ふふ！
