birthday, Singapore! I’m staying at home since most places would be closed to
celebrate as well. Those places that are not closed would likely be too crowded anyway.
Kenji goes for tennis club in the morning.
健二：今日は調子が悪いな。ほとんど拾えなかった…。
愛花：ナイス球拾い、なんて。
Kenji hurries to the small park.
愛花：もう、今日は暑すぎるね。すぐ来てくれてよかった。
健二：そうだな。
Manaka is wearing a simple pink dress.
愛花：最近、こういう可愛いのが好きなんだけど、どう？カレシとして感想を聞かせてくれない？
健二：そうだな…。いいんじゃない。
愛花：ほんと？よかった。あなたのことなら、なんでもわかるんだから、なんて。
After kissing in the park, they go for lunch.
愛花：ね、お昼しない？ちょっと、おなか空いちゃった。
健二：そうだな。
They arrive at the family restaurant.
In the restaurant…
愛花：健二くん。一つだけ、聞いていい？
健二：うん、いいけど？
愛花：ね、質問。デートするとしたら、どういう場所に行きたい？
健二：そうだなぁ…。
Kenji evaluates his options:
- 落ち着けるところ
- 体を動かせるところ
- 流行のところ
- 遊べるところ
健二：落ち着けるところ、かな。
愛花：ふぅん…どうして？
健二：そりゃ、マナカ姫とのんびりできるから？
愛花：最後のハテナは余計です。ふふっ、でも、了解。落ち着けるところ、ね？
They proceed to walk to the shrine.
愛花：あっ、目に、何か…痛いかも…見て、くれる？
Kenji looks closely at her eyes.
愛花：…どう、かな？
健二：なんか…ドキドキするな。
愛花：えっ？
健二：と、とりあえずほこりは入ってないから、安心していいぞ！
Manaka wants Kenji to hold her hand, and they hold
hands and kiss as they walk to the shrine.
They finally reach the shrine.
健二：さ、着いたよ。
愛花：うん、着いたね？
健二：おみくじ、引いてく？
O-mikuji (御御籤, 御神籤, or おみくじ o-mikuji) are random fortunes written on strips of paper at Shinto
shrines and Buddhist temples in Japan. Literally "sacred lot", these
are usually received by making a small offering (generally a five-yen coin as
it is considered good luck) and randomly choosing one from a box, hoping for
the resulting fortune to be good. (As of 2011 coin-slot machines sometimes
dispense o-mikuji.)
The o-mikuji is scrolled up or folded, and unrolling the
piece of paper reveals the fortune written on it.
We have our own
version: it’s called Kau Chim.
Kau Cim or Kau Chim is a fortune telling practice that
originated in China in which the querent (person asking the question) requests
answers from a sacred oracle lot. The practice is often performed in a Taoist
or Buddhist temple in front of an altar. Kau Cim is often referred to as Chien
Tung or Chinese Fortune Sticks by westerners. In the USA, a version has been
sold since 1915 under the name Chi Chi Sticks. Kau Cim is also sometimes known
as "The Oracle of Kuan Yin" in Buddhist traditions.
愛花：う～ん…やめておこうかな？占いなんてしなくても、今とっても幸せだってことには変わりないもん。…なんてね？
健二：（マナカ姫…）
They kiss at the shrine.
愛花：好き。…大好き、あなたのこと。
Manaka still has time, so Kenji suggests going to the
beach.
愛花：ねぇ…わたし、まだ、時間あるかも。
健二：じゃあ、どこか寄っていく？
愛花：そうしよう！ね、どこに行く？
健二：じゃあ…。海水浴場。
愛花：うん、行こうか？
健二：よし、行こう！
They take the train to the coastal station.
健二：じゃ、行こうか。
愛花：ええ、そうしましょうか。
They walk to the beach.
愛花：！ 今の、見た？すごく早く歩く、おおきいカメさん！
A huge fast
tortoise? Now that’s something new.
健二：カメ!?
愛花：うん、ゾウガメ、かな。本物そっくりで、びっくりしちゃった。
健二：ラジコンか？それにして珍しいけど…。
愛花：ふふ。お目目がすごくかわいかった♥ あなたも見られたら良かったのに。
They hold hands and kiss as they walk together.
They arrive at the beach.
Manaka has changed to her bikini.
Hold up,
she brought that with her this whole time?!
健二：マナカ姫、疲れてない？
愛花：うん…はしゃぎすぎちゃったかな、ちょっとだけ眠いかも。
健二：力いっぱい泳いでたもんな。
愛花：だって、あなたが突然、競争だ！なんていうから。それに、手加減もしてくれなかった。
健二：したら怒るだろ？
愛花：うん。ふふ、さすが、わかってるね？
健二：そりゃあ、カレシだし。それに、いいところも見せたいし。
愛花：たーくさん見させていただきました。そのせいで眠くなっちゃったんだからね？
健二：責任取って昼寝の付き添いします。俺が見張ってるから、ゆっくり休みなよ。
愛花：お言葉に甘えちゃおうかな？よろしくね、ボディガードさん♥
They kiss at the beach.
愛花：好き。…大好き、あなたのこと。
After their date at the beach, Manaka wants to have a
short break at the nearby rest stop.
愛花：喉渇いちゃった。ね、お茶にしよっか？
健二：いいね、そうしよう。
They stop over at the shop 海の家.
愛花：到着。ふふ、何食べよっか？
At the rest stop
健二：（マナカ姫のこと、そろそろ別の呼び方してみるかな…？）
Kenji evaluates his options:
- マナくん
- 高嶺
- マナ姫
- まなぴー
- やっぱり、このまま
健二：ま、いっか…。
愛花：…？
It’s time to go home. They kiss at the coastal station
before taking the train back to Manaka’s home.
愛花：あのご夫婦が連れて歩いてるワンちゃん、かわいい！
健二：ああ、黒柴か。あのマロ眉がいいよな。
愛花：うん。いつか、あんな風にお散歩できるようになったら、ステキだね？
健二：うん…ん？
愛花：ふふ！
They kiss as they walk to Manaka’s house.
As Manaka walks back to her house, she doubles back,
wanting a kiss from Kenji.
愛花：帰りたくないわたしを、あやしてくれてる？
After kissing.
愛花：大好きよ？…心から。
Kenji returns home to style himself.
健二：今日は結構きまってるな。ちょっとカッコいいかも？
He then does his hobby.
健二：今日は有意義な時間を過ごせたな。なんか調子いいぞ！
He receives a notification on his phone before going
to sleep.
彼女が人目を気にしないのって、どんなときだと思う？それはな、目の前に立ってる人しか目に入ってないときなんだよ、わかるだろ？
