Characters

Kojima Kenji (小島健二):

A second-year transfer student. He arrives in Towano City and joins the tennis club, volunteers in the library and works in a family restaurant. While intelligent and articulate, he is impulsive and slightly rebellious. He is a clumsy person, as shown by the times he either broke items during his part-time job, crashed into people or slipped and fell. He is a bit forceful and physical in his actions. Kenji’s preferred greeting method is with a karate chop, which usually earns him a comment of “What are you, a grade schooler?”, mostly from Kobayakawa, a fellow library committee member. His girlfriend is Takane Manaka. His birthday is on 24 October.

Takane Manaka (高嶺愛花):

Kenji's girlfriend. A second-year student, like Kenji, she is the school's tennis ace. She is the only child in her family. A high achiever, she is good at academics, tennis, and piano. Her formal attitude, privileged background and perfectionism create distance between she and her classmates. Her nickname is 高嶺の花 (lit. flower on a high peak, meaning an unobtainable goal), a pun on her name. Her birthday is on 5 October.

Moonstone:

Author of this blog and Kenji's wingman. His name is classified; this is just his callsign. Older than Kenji, he was assigned due to their similarities in personality, though communication problems do exist due to his relatively poor command of Japanese (he is working on it though). Though he gives good advice, Kenji has been known to not follow it sometimes.

Despite being a competent wingman, he does not have a girlfriend. It could be because of his relatively cold and detached attitude towards people in general. That being said, he has a huge sense of duty towards the people who he has sworn to protect and assist.

He has a rank that is dependent on Kenji's relationship progress. Right now his rank is Class 10: Honour Guard 1st Class.

His capabilities include:

- Chronosphere: With appropriate set up, Moonstone is able to induce a time lag to prevent Kenji from being late for his dates or other special events. With further set up, he is also able to reset entire days to allow Kenji to recover from bad decisions.

- PAS-A (Portable Automated Somnacin - Aerosol) device: With this device, Moonstone is able to view Kenji's dreams. However, since the device is an experimental non-contact device, he has limited range of actions within Kenji's dreams.

- Time belt: Highly experimental device. Moonstone needs to define a return point before he can use it. With this device, Moonstone is able to jump back to allow Kenji to recover from minor bad decisions.

He is the only character in this group who exists in meatspace.

His birthday is somewhere in October, like the other two. The actual date is classified. A hint to his age and real birthday have been given somewhere in the log.

One of his known hated food is sweet potato.
